You know, I used to think I needed to have everything perfectly together before starting anything new. Whether it was starting a blog, launching a business, or pursuing a big dream, I thought I had to be thin, healthy, and totally organized first. But then I realized something: if I waited for that, I might never start. So I didn’t wait—and I want to encourage you not to wait either. Let me tell you why.
People Need Help Now
The first thing that hit me was that there are people out there who need help right now. I couldn’t just sit back and wait until I felt “ready.” Every day, there are women feeling overwhelmed, unhealthy, and lost, and those are the very things I’m passionate about helping with.
The truth is, God doesn’t wait for us to be perfect before He uses us. He says in 2 Corinthians 12:9, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Isn’t that amazing? He’s not waiting for me to get it all together—and He’s not waiting for you either.
Accountability Fuels Growth
You know what else? Starting my blog and business actually keeps me accountable. Knowing that I’m sharing my journey with others motivates me to stay on track with my own health, organization, and faith goals. It’s like having a cheering section that’s rooting for me to keep going, even on those tough days when I feel like giving up.
And it’s not just about me—it’s a two-way street. When I share my progress, struggles, and victories, it encourages others. And when they tell me that my journey inspires them, it gives me the strength to keep moving forward. We’re in this together.
The Power of an Imperfect Journey
Here’s something I’ve learned: people don’t need to see perfection; they need to see someone walking the path. If I waited until I was perfectly thin, healthy, and organized, it might make others think that those goals are unattainable. But by sharing my imperfect journey, I can show that progress is messy but doable.
It’s okay to stumble, to make mistakes, and to start again. I want you to know that you don’t have to wait to have it all figured out before you take your first step. Just start where you are, and let others be encouraged by your honesty and courage.
Perfection Is a Myth
If I’m being real with you, I’ll never be fully “ready.” There’s always going to be another area to work on, another goal to reach. Waiting for perfection is just an excuse to delay. And you know what Ecclesiastes 11:4 says? “Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.” If we’re always waiting for the perfect conditions, we’ll never get anything done.
Instead of chasing perfection, I’ve decided to focus on obedience. I feel called to share what I’ve learned and to walk alongside others as we all work toward better lives—physically, mentally, and spiritually. And you can do the same.
God Uses Imperfect People
Think about this: throughout the Bible, God used imperfect people to do incredible things. Moses had a speech impediment. David messed up big time. Peter denied Jesus three times. Yet God used each of them in powerful ways.
If God waited for us to be perfect, none of us would ever be used for anything. But thankfully, He doesn’t work that way—and we shouldn’t either. Whatever you’re feeling called to do, trust that God can use you right where you are, imperfections and all.
Don’t Wait—Start Now
So, here’s what I want to say to you: don’t wait. Don’t wait until you’ve reached some imaginary level of perfection. Start now. Take that first step, even if it feels messy and uncertain. God doesn’t call the perfect (equipped and ready to go); He equips the ones who are called. And you’ll be amazed at how He can use you, just as you are, to make a difference in the lives of others.
You’ve got this. And if you need someone cheering you on, I’m here for you.
